Ajax Midfielder Completes Manchester United Medicals
Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek has reportedly completed a medical with Manchester United ahead of his proposed £40m switch to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old Dutchman appears to be inching closer towards a move to the Premier League with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making him United’s first signing of the summer transfer window. Van de Beek is currently with the Netherlands squad preparing for their UEFA Nations League fixtures against Poland and Italy, but according to Sky Sports News, the midfielder has now undergone his medical with United.
A deal is expected to be wrapped up in the coming days, and despite coronavirus guidelines requiring a 14-day quarantine period when arriving in the United Kingdom, the report claims that Van de Beek will not need to self-isolate if he is registered as a Manchester United player before the Netherlands take to the field in the Nations League.
The Netherlands are due to take on Poland on September 4 before slugging it out with Italy three days later, and Van de Beek will reportedly travel to the UK once both games have been played.
Since making his professional debut for Ajax in 2015, Van de Beek has scored 41 goals in 175 games. He also made 34 assists.
