On This Day In 2003, 25-year-old Karl Fredrik Ljungberg(just three days to his 26th birthday) scored the only goal as Arsenal reached their third successive FA Cup Final, beating Sheffield United 1-0 at Old Trafford. The Gunners’ goalkeeper David Seaman, crowned his 1,000th senior appearance(club and country) with a match-winning save from substitute Paul Peschisolido. The Gunners went on to retained the trophy, winning it for the ninth time in their history(Arsenal beat Southampton 1-0 in final), a record second only to that of Manchester United.
