Klose will become assistant coach to Hansi Flick Bayern Munich, next season according to some media say.
The 41-year-old former player, who currently trains the youth under-17 of the Munich club, would have already said “yes” to the new position, as reported by the Eurosport television channel today. The German sports newspaper Kicker, on its website, advanced the appointment on Sunday afternoon, pending Klose’s final acceptance for the position, which he deemed imminent.
World champion with Germany in 2014 and top scorer for the German team , Klose will also participate in the next football teacher training course that the German Football Federation will start in June.
“Everyone who knows me knows that I always want to achieve the best training possible in my life,” Klose said in a statement from the Federation. In order to receive training, the Munich club would have to give him some freedom in the assistant position.
For his part, Flick would like to see Klose at his side on the bench. As coach’s assistant Joachim Löw and forward, respectively, they celebrated the title of the World Cup in Brazil together in 2014.
For Flick, Klose’s presence on the Bayern Munich bench would be ” an enrichment ” for the existing team of coaches. But “he has to decide for himself.” “It is a thing that not only depends on me, but also on him,” said the current coach of the Bavarian club.
