LES BLEUES: On This Day In 1971, the France women’s football national team played their first official match and won 4-0 against the Netherlands. That same year, France took part in the unofficial 1971 Women’s World Cup, held in Mexico. The ladies continued the pirate games, which just made it into the margins of FIFA’s records, until FIFA began overseeing the competition in 1991. LES BLEUES have a record of 256 wins, 86 draws and 110 losses.
