Son Completes Mandatory Military Service in a Grand Style
Tottenham Hotspur winger Son Heung-min has been awarded the Pilsung prize for ranking first out of 157 trainees during a three-week training camp as part of his mandatory military service. The 27-year-old South Korea national team captain undertook his three week training on the south Korean island of Jeju with the 9th Brigade of the Marine Corps. The Korean Herald(a Korean media outlet) reports that his activities included shooting and bayonet skills, chemical, biological and radiological training, individual battle skills and first aid training.
In the shooting exercise, the Spurs attacker, who had to cut his hair short while in camp, apparently hit 10 out of 10 shots on the target. Son Heung-min is set to return to the UK next week after coming out on top of the class during his marine training.
