On This Day In 2006, 28-year-old French striker Thierry Daniel Henry scored a hat-trick as Arsenal secured a fourth place finish in the English Premier League and a Champions League spot by beating Wigan Athletic 4-2 in the Gunners’ final game at Highbury Stadium(also the Gunners’ final game of the 2005/2006 season). The Gunners’ captain famously bowed to the ground after scoring the final goal which was a 76th minute penalty. In all, Henry scored 114 of his 175 League goals for Arsenal at Highbury; the most goals scored by a player on a single ground in English Premier League history.

In all Arsenal played a total of 2010 games(won 1193, draw 475, lost 339, scored 4038 goals and conceded 1955 goals) during their 93 years stay at Highbury Stadium.
